Wildermyth – Mini Game Review
Such an incredible game. It has every element a old-school tabletop RPG should have, and even have a lot of great new features.
Pros:
The combat is challenging, creative, and fun.
The art style is surprisingly great.
It has an active community on the workshop already.
The game gives a background to each character, and because of permadeath, you care about them enough to try to keep them always alive.
Cons:
A little buggy sometimes. Nothing remotely close to game-breaking tough. Just a little weird UI/menu interactions.
The steam cloud it’s in a pretty weird state. Closing the game takes way too long to sync.
It’s easy to feel “lost” in the campaign. Because you have an implicit time limit (your characters get old, and there is an incursion coming), the goal of the chapter it’s not that “clear”, and it takes a long game time to move your characters from one point to another. So it can get a little bit confusing early on.
